Mezcal Reina Enters RTD Market with Paloma and Mezcalita

Mezcal Reina has expanded its portfolio with the launch of two ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails—Mezcal Reina Paloma and Mezcal Reina Mezcalita. Built on the brand’s Espadín mezcal, introduced earlier this year, the new canned cocktails are designed to deliver authentic mezcal flavour in a convenient format. The launch comes as the RTD category continues to gain momentum, with industry forecasts pointing to another year of strong growth.

Launch Highlights

  • Crafted with Mezcal Reina Espadín as the base spirit
  • Paloma: 8.5% ABV with pink grapefruit, fresh lime and sparkling bubbles
  • Mezcalita: 10% ABV with lime and bittersweet chinotto orange
  • Made with natural flavours only
  • No preservatives or sweeteners
  • Developed over nearly two years to ensure flavour stability and product quality in cans

Monica Torroella, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Mezcal Reina, said, “The development process for the Mezcal Reina Mezcalita and Paloma took nearly two years – firstly because it’s important to find the right production partners aligned with our values. And secondly, because with the fresh citrus and authentic mezcal that we’re using, you need to ensure complete stability in the canned material. We’ve achieved that and know that our cans are perfect for preserving flavour quality and product integrity over time.”

The launch comes as RTDs remain the only major alcohol category expected to grow in 2026, according to IWSR. In the UK, off-trade RTD sales have exceeded £700 million, while mezcal is forecast to achieve a 10% CAGR through 2027, highlighting rising consumer interest in premium, convenient cocktails.
