Islay Rum Distillery Debuts First Single Cask Sherry Wood Rum
The Islay Rum Distillery has unveiled its first-ever single cask release, The Original Islay Rum Sherry Wood, marking a significant milestone for the island’s first dedicated rum distillery. Distilled on 18 July 2022 during the distillery’s earliest production runs, the limited-edition expression has been matured in a single Oloroso Sherry cask, showcasing the influence of Islay’s cool maritime climate and traditional Caribbean-inspired rum-making techniques.

We knew the spirit had real potential from early on, and maturation in this oloroso Sherry cask has done exactly what we had hoped. It has brought richness and depth, while letting the rum’s own character come through.”
