Ole Smoky Re-Enters RTD Market with Sparkling Moonshine Lemonades

Ole Smoky Distillery has returned to the ready-to-drink category with the launch of Sparkling Moonshine Lemonades, a new canned cocktail range designed for easy summer sipping. After first entering the RTD segment in 2020 with 9% ABV canned cocktails, the Tennessee-based distiller is now taking a lighter approach with a more sessionable offering at 4.5% ABV.

The new lineup focuses on refreshment and convenience. Each can contains 100 calories, includes no added sugar, and delivers a sparkling twist on Ole Smoky’s signature moonshine. The range debuts in four flavors: Blackberry Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, Watermelon Lemonade, and Lightnin’ Lemonade.

Flavor is clearly the hero here. Bright citrus notes from lemonade form the base, while fruit-forward layers add sweetness and freshness without becoming heavy. The carbonation lifts the aromas and keeps the palate crisp, making the drinks especially appealing for warm-weather occasions such as barbecues, beach outings, and casual gatherings.

Packaging also supports portability. The range will be sold in an eight-pack variety pack, featuring two cans of each flavor. In addition, Blackberry Lemonade will be available in single-serve cans at liquor stores.

“Our fans are always looking for new, convenient ways to enjoy Ole Smoky, especially during the warmer months,” said Tara Wiese, senior director of brand marketing. “Ole Smoky Sparkling Moonshine Lemonades were made for today’s drinking occasions.”

The launch comes as demand for lower-calorie, lower-ABV RTDs continues to grow, highlighting consumers’ preference for lighter yet flavorful alcoholic beverages.
