Queer Brewing Brighter Bolder
East London–based Queer Brewing has expanded its alcohol-free portfolio with the launch of Brighter, Bolder, a 0.5% hazy IPA. Released in early 2025, the new beer reinforces the brewery’s view that low- and no-alcohol beers should be enjoyed year-round, not just during initiatives like Dry January. The launch adds depth to Queer Brewing’s inclusive range while responding to growing demand for flavour-led alcohol-free craft beer.
Brighter, Bolder takes inspiration from two existing beers in the brewery’s lineup: the 6% hazy IPA Burst Into Bright and the 0.5% alcohol-free pale ale Bold. The recipe blends elements of both, delivering tropical fruit character, gentle citrus notes, and a soft, hazy body. The focus is on balance and drinkability, ensuring the beer delivers full flavour without relying on alcohol. Innovation comes from treating alcohol-free brewing as a core craft, not a secondary exercise.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Juicy tropical fruit with light citrus
- Palate: Soft, hazy mouthfeel with balanced hop character
- Finish: Clean, smooth, and gently refreshing
“Why shouldn’t these flavours be enjoyed by everyone, including sober folks?” says head brewer Andy Potter. Founder Lily Waite-Marsden adds: “To us, great alcohol-free beer stands on its own – it’s not an afterthought.”
The alcohol-free beer category continues to grow as more consumers seek mindful drinking options. For Queer Brewing, this release is timely, reflecting the reality that many in the LGBTQ+ community choose sobriety all year round.
Brighter, Bolder is available through Queer Brewing’s channels, including its Leyton taproom, which opens every weekend. Pack formats and pricing have not been disclosed.
