Louis XIII Reveals 2026 Lunar New Year Horse Edition Decanter
Rémy Cointreau’s luxury Cognac house, Louis XIII, has unveiled a first look at its 2026 Lunar New Year limited-edition decanter set, continuing its long-standing dialogue with Chinese culture and craftsmanship. Timed to welcome the Year of the Horse, the release reinforces Louis XIII’s position as a cultural as well as a spirits icon, especially within key Asian luxury markets.
At its heart is Louis XIII Cognac, blended from exceptional eaux-de-vie sourced exclusively from Grande Champagne and aged for over a century in Limousin French oak tierçons. The flavour profile remains timeless, while the presentation evolves. The 2026 coffret showcases the Horse, crafted through traditional Chinese papercut and stamping techniques, paired with Hippeastrum flowers. Together, they symbolise good fortune, prosperity, and joy. The decanter’s hand-finished details reflect the brand’s ongoing focus on art-led luxury and collectible design.
While Louis XIII has not released a formal statement, the brand has consistently noted that its Lunar New Year editions are designed to “honour heritage while celebrating cultural exchange.”
Luxury spirits brands are increasingly utilizing limited editions to enhance their cultural relevance, particularly around the Lunar New Year. This release follows a broader trend within Rémy Cointreau, including recent artistic collaborations in China. Even as the group adjusts its short-term Cognac outlook, Louis XIII continues to invest in high-value, relationship-driven releases aimed at collectors and private clients.
