Citadelle 0.0 Debuts in Europe with True Gin Taste, Zero Alcohol

Citadelle 0.0

Citadelle 0.0

Maison Ferrand-owned gin brand Citadelle has entered the fast-growing no-alcohol spirits space with the launch of Citadelle 0.0 in France and Italy this month. Designed for drinkers who want the flavour of a classic gin without the alcohol, the new release brings Citadelle’s well-known botanical style into a modern, alcohol-free format, just as demand for premium zero-proof options continues to rise across Europe.

Instead of removing alcohol from a finished gin, Citadelle took a different route. The brand used a gentle hydrodistillation process inspired by perfumery, which captures the most expressive aromas of each botanical in its natural state. This method allows the distillate to keep its fresh, spicy, and citrus-led character, blending the profile of Citadelle Original with the bright, sun-kissed notes of Citadelle Jardin d’Été. The result is a complex yet clean spirit designed to shine in cocktails, especially with tonic.

  • Appearance: Clear and bright
  • Nose: Light and herbal with soft spices and floral hints
  • Palate: Fresh and generous, lifted by citrus and a gentle peppery bite
  • Finish: Long, vibrant, and precise for a non-alcoholic spirit

“Hydrodistillation allowed us to express the botanicals as they are: naturally fresh, bright, and delicate,” says Fannie Thibaud, Creation and Experimentation Manager at Maison Ferrand.

With consumers seeking better-quality alcohol-free spirits, Citadelle 0.0 stands out by offering true botanical depth rather than a diluted imitation of gin.

Citadelle 0.0 is now available in France and Italy at €19.99 (US$23), with wider European distribution planned for spring. Standard 700ml bottles are offered through selected retailers and on-trade partners.
