Meikle Tòir Single Cask Collection

Meikle Tòir Single Cask Collection

The GlenAllachie Distillery has fired up excitement among peated whisky fans with the debut of its first-ever Meikle Tòir Single Cask Collection. This bold new duo — one available only at the distillery and the other online — delivers intense, smoky depth married with rich Sherry cask character. Both are bottled at natural cask strength and crafted for those who crave powerful, honest whisky straight from the source.

Meikle Tòir Single Cask Collection

Independent Speyside distillery The GlenAllachie is making waves with the release of the inaugural Meikle Tòir Single Cask Collection, a limited edition showcase of its mainland peated spirit. Master distiller Billy Walker handpicked two standout casks — one matured in a 2018 Pedro Ximénez Sherry hogshead, the other in a 2019 Oloroso Sherry hogshead.

These two expressions highlight the evolving character of Meikle Tòir: robust peat smoke layered with sherried richness, bottled without chill filtration, no added colour, and at natural cask strength.2018 Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask and 2019 Oloroso Sherry Cask

Final Overview:

Billy Walker’s vision comes to life in these two limited bottlings. The GlenAllachie’s investment in its peated program is clearly paying off — and this launch proves that Meikle Tòir can go toe-to-toe with Islay’s best, while still carving its own identity. With just over 700 bottles in total, these whiskies won’t sit on shelves for long.

Billy Walker says it best: “No fuss – just great, honest whisky.”

FAQs:

Q1: How peated is Meikle Tòir compared to Islay whiskies?
A: It’s peated to 44–47ppm, similar in strength to many Islay malts, but with a sweeter, mainland smoke profile.

Q2: Are these whiskies chill-filtered or coloured?
A: No, both are non-chill filtered and retain their natural colour.

Q3: Can I buy both bottles online?
A: No. The 2018 PX Cask is distillery-only. The 2019 Oloroso Cask is available exclusively through The GlenAllachie’s website.
