Exotic ginger liqueur Kaveri has officially launched across six international markets, including the UK, following a soft debut in 2023. Founded by Varun Sarna, the brand brings a flavour-led, culture-first approach to the liqueur category. The launch is significant because it places real ginger and traditional ingredients at the centre of modern cocktail culture, while also marking Kaveri’s transition from niche discovery to global availability.

Kaveri is made using 100% real ginger, blended with jaggery, lime, and black salt to deliver a bold yet balanced profile. Bottled at 20.3% ABV, the liqueur focuses on natural flavour rather than excessive sweetness. Its official launch is supported by refreshed packaging, developed with creative agency Land, which reflects the brand’s Indian roots and contemporary positioning. Named after the sacred Kaveri river—known in ancient Tamil texts as ‘Ponni’, or the golden life-giver—the product blends heritage with a modern drinks sensibility.

  • Finish: Clean, lingering warmth with a gentle citrus lift

“I wanted to bring that authenticity from home,” says founder Varun Sarna. “Ginger is one of the world’s most beloved ingredients, and Kaveri brings it to the drinks space in a way that respects the natural ingredients it’s crafted from.”

As consumers seek honest flavours and cultural depth, ginger-forward spirits are gaining renewed attention. Kaveri arrives at the right moment, tapping into the rise of ingredient-driven cocktails and the growing influence of global food cultures on premium drinks menus.

Kaveri is priced at £25.99 (US$35) for a 500ml bottle in the UK. It is available via Amathus, The Whisky Exchange, Master of Malt, Amazon, and leading on-trade venues including The Dorchester and Claridge’s. International markets include Ireland, Switzerland, Qatar, the Maldives, and the UAE.
