The Hearach Decade Edition
To celebrate a decade of craftsmanship, Isle of Harris Distillers has released The Hearach Decade Edition. This lightly peated single malt whisky, limited to just 2,357 bottles, is the first from the distillery to use peat hand-cut from the Isle of Harris itself. Exclusive and deeply rooted in island tradition, it launches on 12 September during the Hebridean Whisky Festival.
The Hearach Decade Edition
Founded in September 2015, Isle of Harris Distillery is known worldwide for its namesake gin and, more recently, its flagship single malt, The Hearach, launched in 2023. Now, as the distillery turns ten, it unveils a whisky that connects even more closely to its land and culture.
The Hearach Decade Edition is a limited-edition lightly peated single malt distilled in November 2018. It was matured in three first-fill oloroso Sherry butts and two first-fill ex-Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels before being bottled at 46% ABV.
For the first time, the distillery has used peat hand-cut from Harris peat banks—ancient land resources traditionally shared among local families. This peat-drying process has created a dram with subtle smoke layered over caramel and spice notes.
Only 2,357 bottles will be available, exclusively online and at the Tarbert distillery shop from 12 September 2025, coinciding with the Hebridean Whisky Festival. The release is priced at £75 (US$101).
