Salford Rum and Duerr's
Manchester-based Salford Rum has partnered with historic English marmalade maker Duerr’s to release a limited edition Marmalade Rum inspired by the classic British breakfast of marmalade on toast. Launching for the Christmas season, the collaboration brings together two Manchester institutions and reimagines a familiar flavour in a festive, drinkable format. The release goes on sale from 14 December via Salford Rum’s website.
Salford x Duerr’s Marmalade Rum is built on a white molasses-based rum from Guyana, distilled with Duerr’s Fine Cut Seville Orange Marmalade. The recipe also includes fresh orange peel, fresh lemon peel, and almond for depth. The rum is finished with sugar, additional orange, and ginger to recreate the warmth and sweetness of marmalade, while adding a spirited kick. Bottled at 37.5% ABV, the expression is designed to be approachable, comforting, and ideal for winter serves.
- Nose: Bright Seville orange, gentle citrus oils, soft ginger
- Palate: Sweet marmalade, toasted citrus peel, light almond warmth
- Finish: Smooth, warming, and lightly spiced
“This limited edition marmalade rum is set to be a sure fire hit with both rum and marmalade lovers this Christmas,” says Tommy Gaughan, co-founder of Salford Rum. “Collaborating with a Greater Manchester institution like Duerr’s has been incredible.”
Salford x Duerr’s Marmalade Rum is priced at £42 (US$56) and will be available from 14 December via Salford Rum’s website.
